Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since March of the previous year.
Success also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children together, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour title, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet defended four early chances in a close final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
